The 10th Annual Black Bar Crawl Chicago is a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and nightlife, bringing thousands together to support and experience some of Chicago’s best Black-owned bars, restaurants, and venues. Crawlers will start at select Black-owned establishments throughout the South Loop and will also have access to our exclusive food truck garden featuring great food, music, and drink specials. The experience will end with an unforgettable after-party on the beach (location TBA); all guests must be 21+ to participate, and all ticket purchases are final with no refunds.

The 10th Annual HU Bar Crawl is a Homecoming favorite, drawing 2,500+ Howard/Morgan alumni, DMV professionals, and friends to U Street for drink specials, open bars, and giveaways. This year is extra special as it falls during Halloween week—come in your best HBCU gear or Halloween costume!
10.18.26 | 5th Annual Blaque Mecca Block Party (DC)

Join us for an all-day outdoor tailgate and block party before, during, and after the game! Howard and Morgan alumni from across the country will unite for DJs, cocktails, food trucks, and vibes at an 11,000 sq. ft. venue built around a repurposed Metro railcar at Rhode Island Ave Station—celebrating DC culture in a unique, arts-focused space.

Back by popular demand—the 8th Annual Karaoke Brunch! Now featuring HU Comedians, bringing the laughs to match the vibes. Enjoy a buffet, craft cocktails, and non-stop R&B, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Soul, and Trap as you sing, dance, and reconnect with alumni at the scenic Capitol Riverfront. Held on the 9th floor of the new Cambria Hotel with stunning city views.

MOVEMAKERS was founded in 2006 by six classmates from Howard University who shared a vision of creating premier events for young professionals in cities around the world. Today, through strategic partnerships with globally recognized brands, MOVEMAKERS has established a strong presence in both Chicago and Washington, DC. Signature events include the HU Bar Crawl (the largest Black bar crawl in the world), Blaque Mecca Block Party, Chicago Culture Ball, Rhythm and Beats, and more.
